  4. You may use yourself as a subject
  5. Must gain prior approval of type of victimization (criminal & non-criminal) from instructor
  6. Use a pseudonym
  7. Contents:
    1. Type of victimization
    2. Describe the subject (e.g., age, gender, etc.)
    3. Explain/describe the circumstances of the victimization
    4. Explain/describe how the subject responded to/dealt with the victimization (e.g., secret, get professional help; tell a confidant; ask “why me?”)
    5. Social response(s) to the victimization: intimates, acquaintances, professionals, officials, etc.
    6. Formal aid provided the victim
    7. Status of the subject today
  8. Quotes may be used on a limited basis
  9. Essay format; this is not “q & a”

   10. Proposed topics due: February 6, 2004

Research Paper

    1. Introduction to topic from chapter from the text
    2. Information from library-2 sources--causes
    3. Information from at least one website—social response or solution
    4. Reference page; with sources appropriately cited in text
    5. Do not plagiarize
